As anyone who has been through a 200-hr program knows, much of what you learn doesn’t get fully digested. We study, we pay attention and then despite our best efforts, 6 months later we find ourselves grasping for words to explain internal rotation or the concept of santosha. This 6-month program is designed for those who can relate. Through group and individual study, you will receive a thorough review of the basic concepts of yoga, how to weave a class effectively, living like a yoga teacher and ways to have an impact (moving from instructor to teacher).

Yoga Teacher Mentorship Program

four, six hour sessions, you will meet with Alana and fellow mentees in a small group setting where you will focus on, your personal goals as a teacher, sequencing a class, finding your teaching voice and getting comfortable with hands on assists. In addition to instruction time you will be assisting Alana at a designated weekly class, followed by constructive assessment.

Alana has been working in the field of HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa since 2008 and have been looking for a way to combine her two worlds, yoga and public health, and get involved in the HIV epidemic at a domestic level. Join her on December 2nd during her regular schedule All-Levels class during which live music will be played by Jesse Baskin. Regular class rates apply. Workshop will consist of an asana practice exploring beginner to intermediate backbends on three planes, prone, supine, and kneeling. Class will also include an easy to understand explanation of spinal anatomy, exploration of restorative backbends with props, and a backbending sequence you can take home and practice on your own.
