We welcome back Heidi, Ph.D., E-RYT 500, is a Forrest Yoga Mentor Teacher and has assisted Ana Forrest in her national workshops and teacher trainings. She currently teaches the Forrest Yoga 200-hr Foundation Teacher Training, the Forrest Yoga Advanced Teacher Training, travels nationally to present workshops and teacher training, has taught at Kripalu, Esalan and in the Windhorse Forrest Yoga Conference. In 2008, Heidi was named by Yoga Journal as one of the 21 finest teachers in the nation. 

Heidi received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Psychology from Yale University. She is an expert on the influence of arousal and attention on performance, how anxiety affects thinking, stress management, and performance in pressure situations. She has been an educator, speaker, and corporate trainer with over 10 years experience in designing and leading seminars on stress management, meditation, and educator training. HDR Press published her book Performing Under Pressure, and Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine published her article "Meditation can Reduce Habitual Responding."

BACKBEND PLAYSHOP 1-3pm

Stop working so hard. This is not a work shop, its a play shop. Learn to soften into the great mystery of what is in the moments that you typically choose to work harder. Use back bending practice to increase your awareness of the moments that you are truly awake. In those moments (that naturally arise - you do not have to work hard to create them) choose to soften, to play, and to go after pleasure. Forrest Yoga carefully and strategically warms and opens the body so that you can backbend with ease and freedom. Add the mindset of play and transform your limitations.

ALLY YOUR MIND 4-5:30pm

This workshop is to ease you into a new relationship with your own mind. To move forward on our spiritual path we need to cultivate two qualities - clear seeing and a compassionate presence toward ourself. When we are out of balance between the two it is challenging to just sit in meditation. If you think you can’t meditate because your mind is too busy or you don’t have time or it stresses you out – come and try a new way in - a new balance. This is a pragmatic approach to cultivating a better relationship with your mind. You will leave with tools to help you jumpstart your meditation practice.

$25 before 1/21, $30 thereafter.
