The primary goals of the gentler Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body, increase the level of oxygen in the blood, decrease muscle toxins, improve circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Deep tissue massage offers the deepest pressure to release chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). The goal in deep tissue massage is to breakdown adhesions (tense areas within the muscle) to relieve pain, inflammation and expand range of motion of the muscles and joints.

In addition to being one of JP Centre Yoga's weekly teachers, Brenna has completed an 850+hr massage therapy program at the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy as well as a Level 2 Reiki training. Having studied many modalities of massage, Brenna includes in her treatments intuitive work, attuning to the subtle energetic body. Shakti studied Massage Therapy at the Swedish Institute in NYC. With a background in Shiatsu and Myofascial Release, she integrates Eastern and Western techniques into each session. As an intuitive healer with years of anatomical study, the foundation of her work is rooted in listening to the body’s own wisdom and following that guidance.
