Andrea Fotopoulos

I am an Anusara-Inspired Yoga teacher with over 9 years of teaching experience and 1000 hrs of combined training and practice experience under the guidance of some of Anusara’s most senior Certified Teachers. To me, yoga is the artful “practice” of living on and off the mat. My highest aim, as a student, is to live my life in the most embodied way possible and, as a teacher, to serve each of my students fully whether they are beginners, working with injuries, or adept practitioners.

In my classes, you can expect to work hard and have fun. I believe that weaving humor, strong alignment and practical applicability into my classes can help students gain access to a practice that supports them in their lives. By integrating the tools of the Universal Principles of Alignment, therapeutics, and some good old curiosity, my students can explore, through their own unique experience, their potential greatness (and humanness) on the mat and maybe in their world.

I am profoundly grateful to all my teachers for their gifts of Grace, wisdom and ability to make the work so much fun. I especially thank Stacey Rosenberg, Abby Tucker, Noah Maze, Christina Sell, Darren Rhodes and John Friend for making this path to the heart such a joy.

When I am not teaching publicly, I tend to hang around JP, where I live with my family, running around with my vibrantly funny 4 year old daughter Bija, enjoying all the playful and deep teachings of this life. I even manage to practice on the mat daily, read an occasional book, surf all the happenings on Facebook and play with my furry cat Cola.
