My first experience of yoga was on an island in Thailand in the midst of a two-year backpacking adventure. Prior to yoga, through my background in meditation, I had refined my ability to observe the inner workings of the mind and body. In my first yoga class I discovered the possibility to not only observe, but also create change: to connect to the areas within that felt ‘stuck’ and to engage them in a way that felt profoundly healing.
Born in Israel, I came to the U.S. in my early 20s. Here, through my studies, I became certified as a shiatsu practitioner, massage therapist, yoga instructor, and nutrition and health counselor.
When teaching yoga, my style has evolved into a breath-based vinyasa flow with a precision of alignment, predominantly influenced by the Iyengar tradition.
When working as a nutrition counselor, I draw from all dietary theories – Eastern and Western nutrition – finding what works best for each individual.
As co-founder and director of JP Centre Yoga, I am blessed with the endless support of my incredible co-founder Sejal Shah and the JPCY community at large.
