Yoga For Beginners
With Nadine Channaoui
Four Consecutive Sundays: 9/30, 10/7, 10/14 and 10/21
Week 1: Stand Tall: defining proper alignment from the ground up
Week 2: Unwind the spine: mobilize and lengthen the spine
Week 3: Shoulder openers: stretch and strengthen the muscles of the upper body
Week 4: Forming an inversions practice: The 101 of getting upside-down
This four-week series is designed specifically for those who are brand new to the practice of yoga as well as those who wish to get "back to basics" in an open and exploratory environment. Structural alignment of yoga postures will be explained in detail at a manageable pace to the beginning yoga student. The poses that will be reviewed are ones often taught in vinyasa-style classes and include standing postures, down-ward facing dog, lunges, backbends, seated postures, and reclined postures. Throughout the series, students will be invited to ask questions and explore the benefits of each pose within their own body.
Drop-ins are not available for individual sessions.
