Wintering: Honoring Nature’s Rhythms with Brenna Matthews

Tantric wisdom tells us we have the entire universe within, and on the most gross level this includes all of nature and the elements. Therefore, nature is not only unfolding around us, it is impacting and creating a part of our internal environment.

Because our culture is quite disconnected from this truth it can feel difficult to hear, listen and head to these rhythms. We are often swept up into a perceived need to rush and a sense of urgency that saps vitality, creativity and the connection to higher understanding.

Winter tells us it is time to go inside, to find greater quiet and stillness and honor the vital 'space between'. Creation is not just an outward spiral, it must turn inward and return to its center for replenishment, nourishment and clarity.

In this workshop there will be an introduction to Samkhya Philosophy (yogic philosophy for how we take form), Ayurvedic techniques for winter self care, pranayama (breath work) yoga asana (deeply warming intentional movement, yin and restorative), and meditation.
