Re-member the Breath: an In-body Exploration with Magi Pierce

Join special guest teacher Magi Pierce during her visit from NYC.

Breath is our birthright, and each breath naturally carries waves of undulation, rhythm, and movement. Join Magi Pierce for a somatic exploration of how you breathe. Together, we will review the anatomy of the diaphragm and how musculature patterns of the torso can affect breath quality.

This workshop will include a thoughtful yoga sequence combining held and flowing postures with multidirectional movement and strengthening, specific breathing techniques, and space for deep rest and integration. Come exactly as you are. All are welcome.

ABOUT MAGI

Magi Pierce found yoga in 2006 and did her first teacher training in 2007. Over these last nearly two decades of practice and teaching, she has been fascinated by the intersections of anatomy, psychology, and spirit. Her classes aspire to facilitate practitioner’s self-study with a way that is equal parts precise and kind.

Magi began teaching in Boston then moved to NYC in 2010 where she joined Kula Yoga Project. She now lives and teaches in New Jersey with her wife and 2 young daughters who are graciously providing her the most profound teachings yet. Daniel and Magi co-created and co-wrote the first JPCY teacher training in 2014 and she is so thrilled to be come back each year and to be in the room with this special community!
