UPCOMING EVENTS
This class is intended as a welcoming yoga environment for anyone who considers themselves a part of the LGBTQ+ community. Led by Harley Takagi Kaner (he/they) and Henri Garrison-Desany (all pronouns welcome) on alternating months. Class includes a blend of vinyasa flow and mindfulness practices. Direction and prop use will be inclusive of those who may have had surgeries or whose bodies are changing, and hands-on assists will be offered for those interested and comfortable with touch.
Join Alex Bauermeister for a day of hands-on assisting training with a focus on restorative yoga poses. Through partner practice, giving and receiving feedback, presentation and discussion, you'll deepen your skills in offering trauma-informed yoga assists that focus on nervous system regulation, grounding, and relaxation.
Visioned and led by Marlene Boyette - this monthly $6 community yoga offering welcomes Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to explore a blend of postures intended to open and energize the body, as well as postures that sooth and calm. Aspects of meditation, sound healing, and pranayama will occasionally be infused into this offering.
Join Brenna Matthews for a day-long, in-studio retreat that explores and celebrates intentional community and what it means to more deeply connect with ourselves, each other, and the world around us. There will be movement, somatic practices, journaling, circle sharing, meditation, and deep rest.
Explore the remarkable complexity of the shoulder and how mobility and stability work together to create healthy, sustainable movement. We’ll examine the shoulder in relationship to the upper back, chest, and arms, translating anatomy into functional movement and practice.
Relieve deep-set tension with yoga therapist Alex Bauermeister and her team of magical assistants. Alex guides a meditative sequence of floor-based, gentle poses, while a team of assistants offer optional hands-on support and bodywork. This is a practice of self-care to bring forward our most grounded and wise selves, in service of our own wellbeing, and the wellbeing of our relationships and communities.
Whether you’re new to meditation or an experienced practitioner, this eight-week series offers space to establish, deepen, and sustain a meaningful practice. Explore mindfulness, compassion, and the six paramitas through meditation, teaching, and group discussion, with an emphasis on bringing these practices into everyday life. No previous meditation or Buddhist experience is necessary.
This class is designed for newly postpartum folks who have been cleared for exercise (generally 6+ weeks after birth). Movements are offered in support of the parent's body, with special guidance on restoration of the pelvic floor muscles and core stability. Classes include a check-in circle, and care for the areas of the body working hardest during life with a newborn: backs, necks, shoulders, chest. You are welcome with or without your baby, who is pre-mobile (i.e. not crawling or walking).
We’ll travel above and below the hips to explore key regions that influence the lower back, hips, knees, and feet. Through the lens of our practice we’ll examine the muscular and joint relationships that connect the feet to the spine, and how forces and patterns travel through the lower body. This workshop offers a deeper understanding of how strength and flexibility are balanced throughout the system to support more integrated, intelligent movement in yoga practice.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), there is a fifth season: late summer. This two-hour Yin Yoga practice offers wisdom from the Fifth season, drawing from both yogic tradition and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced Yin Yoga practitioners.
Join Joel Stanley to experience an accessible dance and movement practice. In this special movement practice Joel spins waves, holds space, and invites you to let the music be your guide through the rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. Allow the music to move you beyond self-imposed limitations and facilitate a deep exploration of creativity and connection.
