Alex Bauermeister
(LCSW, E-RYT, C-IAYT, she/her)
Alex is a seasoned yoga teacher, yoga therapist, and clinical therapist dedicated to creating inclusive, accessible environments for diverse nervous systems. She has been leading trauma-informed therapeutic yoga trainings across New England and the UK for nearly a decade. Her teaching blends clinical insight with compassionate, grounded embodiment practices.
At the heart of Alex’s approach is empowerment through choice, self-attunement, and agency. Students are invited to participate in ways that honor their body, energy, and nervous system in each moment. To ensure the training is the right fit, all participants are required to take at least one class with Alex prior to enrolling.
Part One: Trauma-Informed Foundations Training
Part Two: Skills Practice Immersion and Mentorship
Over the course of 35 hours, you’ll build a robust toolbox for trauma-informed, nervous-system-responsive embodiment practices for both individuals and groups. You’ll learn strategies — within your own professional scope of practice — to support students and clients in cultivating nervous system regulation, embodied resilience, greater self-awareness, and ability to respond to one’s own needs.
Part One: Foundations Training
In-person or asynchronous at your own pace via recordingA curated introduction to nervous-system awareness, adaptive human responses to stress and trauma, and best practices in trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness. The training includes weekly educational modules with presentation and discussion. You’ll also participate in weekly yoga classes to help you feel trauma-informed teaching in action, with space to debrief and extrapolate learning from the practice on the mat. The training is supplemented by additional resources and weekly written reflection homework between sessions.
Part Two: Skills Immersion, Practice, and Mentorship
In-person onlyThis immersive module deepens your practical skills and confidence. You’ll engage in:
Small-group teaching practice
1:1 partner exchanges to simulate individual client work
Give and receive feedback from peers to hone your skills
Opportunities for feedback and mentorship from Alex
Group discussion, self-study, and opportunities to experience trauma-informed approaches in your own body and nervous system
Trainees complete a final asynchronous assignment after the training to receive their certificate of completion.
Part One focuses on education via concepts and information, while Part Two focuses more on experiential, embodied learning. Working within your unique scope of professional practice, you will gain strategies to support nervous system regulation and embodied resilience, on and off the yoga mat.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: All participants must take at least one yoga class with Alex beforehand (in person or via a 48-hour recording window).
Trainees may enroll in Part One only, but must complete Part One or have previously completed a trauma-informed training with Alex* in order to join Part Two.
Part One is available in person, or on your own schedule through recordings. Each weekly session recording is available for 7 days and must be completed before the next session.
Part Two is in-person only.

TUITION:
In support of collective care, JPCY offers self determined Tiered Pricing. We are committed to addressing structural inequities that have historically existed in yoga spaces by creating a pricing model that makes yoga classes and professional skills trainings accessible to a wider range of students.
The Standard Rate reflects the market value for similar trainings in Boston. We ask those of you who can afford to invest in your learning at this price to do so - this pricing level contributes directly to the longevity of our small business and the livelihood of our teachers.
HOW TO CHOOSE A TIER:
-
Reflects an average market rate. It is intended for those who are able to support JPCY at the true cost of our offerings.
This tier is suited for people with a stable income and access to food, housing, and healthcare, the ability to build savings and afford leisure activities (dining, traveling, etc).
-
Provides a more comfortable option for anyone who cannot afford the standrard rate.
This tier is suited for people with unstable/reduced/low income that creates some stress about meeting basic needs.
-
Provides an even greater discount for those in need of greater financial assistance.
This tier is suited for people with unstable or inadequate income that sometimes prevents access to food, housing, and healthcare.
-
In support of diversifying yoga leadership, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color registering for this training have the option to use the discount code wellnessequity and save 50% off the Standard Rate
We don’t assume that all who identify as BIPOC require or want financial support to access yoga. For those who do, we see this as step we can take towards offering reparations within a healthcare system that has predominantly failed communities of color.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT:
We are sensitive to the economic realities of our times. For additional financial aid inquiries, please email alex@intrayogatherapy.com.
