Meet Your Feet with Kiera Penpeci

Join Kiera Penpeci for a functional movement practice for strong and responsive feet that stabilize the body from the ground up. Made up of many small, seemingly insignificant joints and muscles, the feet create a complex system that builds a strong foundation for our posture and gait.

In this practice, you will use myofascial release balls and familiar studio props to “meet your feet”. In other words, we’ll walk through some foot mechanics, wake up the individual toes, fire up the plantar fascia, energize the arches, and practice new movement patterns. Following the introduction to the concepts and deep tissue release work, expect mobility and stability conditioning work, along with a flow that informs the optimal use of your feet in other styles of yoga and movement practices. This practice will end with some restorative postures that allow us to observe the effects of the practice and create the conditions for normalizing new musculoskeletal patterns.

Students with plantar fasciitis, pronation/supination patterns, and hallux valgus (bunions) are encouraged to attend.

Props: Blocks, Blanket, myofascial release ball (or other strong ball tennis ball size or smaller), yoga strap, and a quarter-sized coin.

HYBRID EVENT | This hybrid workshop will be both in-person and via live-stream. The recording will be available for 48hrs for those livestream registrants who do not sign in to the livestream.

Those attending livestream should have their own ball, band/strap, and coin.
