MEETA KAPADIA (she/her)
I grew up in an Indian family where yoga philosophy and Ayurveda were sprinkled into our daily lives. I discovered yoga as a physical practice in my early 20s in New York City when I attended a beginner’s class at my gym.
Inspired by the quiet space that yoga provided within the noise of the city, I continued to seek out time on my mat as a counterbalance throughout my 20+ career in banking and startups. I have practiced many styles of asana and I’ve found the physical benefits of yoga to complement my love of tennis, swimming, and the great outdoors. But it’s the mental and spiritual benefits of yoga that truly fuel my devotion to the practice.
I obtained my 200 hour RYT certificate at HYP with Raechel Lappen and Rachel Tondreau and I continue to study with and follow VikramJeet Singh and others who focus on preserving yoga’s roots.
What to Expect from My Classes
I aim to bring joy, connection and a love for learning to my classes. With a focus on alignment, I provide detailed cues and offer a slower pace to give students the space to safely explore each pose. As someone blessed with tight hamstrings and hips, I encourage the use of props and provide variations for each pose to make the practice accessible to all. I provide a well rounded class with a thoughtful balance of effort and ease. You’ll be both challenged and supported and my hope is that you leave feeling grounded and inspired to come back.
