Yoga for Us: Specialty BIPOC Outdoor Celebration of Intentional Rest and Sound Meditation with Marlene Boyette

Join Marlene Boyette outdoors at the stunning Pine Promontory section of Jamaica Pond for a special event designed with intention and care for the BIPOC community.

Gathering under the sheltering trees, embraced by the earth, you will be bathed in both soothing sound and gentle sunlight. This event offers you a chance to ground yourself, daydream, rest, and foster connections within a supportive community and with the surrounding nature.

Light refreshments will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks, water bottles, blankets, and/or mats for added comfort during the session.

Although it can often seem inaccessible, ease is an essential component for our own equanimity. The less we are able to access a felt sense of ease, the more tension we encounter; in our minds, in our bodies, in our hearts, and in our day-to-day lives. If you have been seeking an opportunity to experience calm, belonging, safety, and peace in the presence of community, Marlene will guide a gentle grounding practice followed by an immersive sound bath, catered specifically to the BIPOC community.

This experience is offered with the intent of:
- reducing stress & anxiety,
- reducing muscular, mental, emotional tension & fatigue
- Improving mood & sense of overall well-being

Experience the Magic of a Sound Bath

A sound meditation, also called a “sound bath” and “sound therapy,” can be traced back ancient civilizations across the globe who understood the deep healing qualities of sound frequencies. These forms of meditation welcome participants to experience sound vibrations generated by metal or quartz singing bowls, chimes, gongs, and additional instruments specifically selected by the practitioner. This meditative experience is intended to encourage a sense of deep relaxation by shifting stagnant energy/emotions within the body.
