Postpartum “Baby and Me” Yoga with Jill Rodgers and Q&A with Abby Coakley RN, IBCLC

This class is designed for newly postpartum folks who have been cleared for exercise (generally 6+ weeks after birth).

Movements are offered in support of the parent's body, with special guidance on restoration of the pelvic floor muscles and core stability.

Classes include a check-in circle, and care for the areas of the body working hardest during life with a newborn: backs, necks, shoulders, chest. You are welcome with or without your baby, who is pre-mobile (i.e. not crawling or walking).

Bring a blanket or seat to anchor them within the room, and any items that make them comfortable (toy, cushion, car seat). There are plenty of opportunities to include baby in your movements, and feel free to feed and diaper as needed.

This week’s session will feature a special opportunity for Q&A with Abby Coakley, postpartum nurse and lactation consultant.

ABOUT ABBY COAKLEY, RN, IBCLC
Owner of The Postpartum Path

I have been working both in hospitals and in homes, as a postpartum nurse and lactation consultant for 8 years. I have had the privilege of supporting families as they adjust to their new roles with compassion and care and I love the work I get to do with families.

My approach is gentle and family-centered. I am  here to listen to what matters most to families, not to tell them what they “should” do. While I bring skills and experience in postpartum care and breastfeeding, I believe the most important thing is helping families feel confident and supported in a way that aligns with their values. I see families both before and after the baby arrives to help with breastfeeding planning and pre and postpartum support.
