Unveiling the Shroud: A Restorative Justice Approach to Conversations about Death and Dying with Lisa Leung-Tat and Liz Neumann

In our contemporary society, the topic of death is often shunned, cloaked in a veil of discomfort that discourages open dialogue.

The avoidance has led to systemic issues, particularly in how we engage with the rituals surrounding death and dying. This conditioning limits not only our ability to confront our own mortality but also our capacity to celebrate life and death in a more meaningful way.

The workshop "Unveiling the Shroud" aims to shine a light on these challenges, exploring the conditioning that pushes us toward silence while simultaneously tethering us to a capitalist framework. Through engaging discussions and thought-provoking exercises, participants are encouraged to reconsider their perceptions of death, funerals, and the societal pressures that shape them.
