SANDY KLEMMER (she/her)
Over 20+ years of practice I've experienced a variety of wisdom traditions that uniquely shape me as a yoga practitioner and teacher. I am an E-RYT with over 12 years of teaching experience, a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), a certified meditation teacher, I hold an academic certificate from the Yogic Studies school, and return to India annually to deepen my commitment to the yogic path. Bhakti-yoga, or yoga of the heart, is the center of my spiritual life with a strong connection to the teachings of Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba. I have an unquenchable thirst to study philosophical and spiritual dimensions. And when it comes to postural yoga, my personal practice involves both vinyasa and ashtanga. By the grace of my teachers, I experience yoga as a very clear path towards compassion, integrity, and the truth of interconnection - there is no separation between us, them, and the land we stand on.
What You Can Expect From My Classes
I teach alignment-focused vinyasa classes that are physically challenging, yet modifiable for a wide range of abilities. True to the essence of vinyāsa, we’ll practice doing one thing at a time, with skillfulness of mind, body, and breath. And as much as we’ll refine basic postures, I also routinely offer more complex postures and transitions. I tend to be wired for depth, subtlety, warmth, and whiffs of humor. Expect classes infused with traditional yogic teachings to promote progress and awaken personal insight.
