CHEYENNE ASAHINA (she/her)
I found my way to a yoga mat during the height of lockdown. I was in a new city, alone in my living room, Yoga with Adriene on the TV. I was looking for a way to center myself during a time of intense change. Along the way I discovered an entirely new way of relating to both myself and my environment. I believe that yoga invites us to meet ourselves where we are, and that regular practice helps us cultivate autonomy and choice in how we meet the world where it is. The yoga mat is a safe place to laugh, cry, sweat, or rest, and everything we practice on the mat becomes easier to access outside of it.
After several years as a solo-practitioner, I was eager to grow my yoga community and deepen my practice. I followed that impulse to JPCY, where I completed my 200-hour teacher training in June 2025 and am set to complete my 300-hour teacher training in June 2026.
What You Can Expect From My Classes:
I aim to create a space that's welcoming to all practitioners, regardless of experience or ability. I tend towards slower flows, offering lots of language around sensations and alignment, so that there's plenty of space to explore what feels uniquely supportive to you.
