ABOUT ANDREA

In addition to teaching at the studio, Andrea offers one-on-one sessions rooted in functional movement, therapeutic alignment, strength training, and movement rehabilitation. Her work integrates principles of yoga, joint mobility, anatomy, and evidence-informed movement practices to support students in moving with greater ease, confidence, and resilience.

Andrea approaches each student as a whole person, recognizing that pain, limitation, and movement habits often have many contributing factors. Through individualized assessment and movement exploration, she helps students better understand their bodies, build strength and mobility, and develop sustainable movement patterns that support both daily life and yoga practice.

Whether recovering from injury, navigating chronic discomfort, returning to movement, or seeking to deepen an existing practice, these sessions provide personalized support tailored to each individual's goals and needs.

Andrea also offers one-on-one mentorship for yoga teachers and trainees. Shen supports teachers in developing the ability to observe movement patterns, understand the ways bodies move differently, and work more skillfully with individual students.

CLIENT REVIEWS

"I have used Andrea's office hours to understand and work through hip pain, and better understand hip mobility. I’ve recommended it to others who have questions about why they’ve never been able to do specific poses, or who have specific problems in their practice. It would be a great addition to physical therapy for rehabilitation. It could be useful for folks new to yoga, and is definitely an excellent resource for long time practitioners."

"Yoga really does start from the ground up! Andrea helped me realize that the root of some of my difficulties with certain poses began with my feet. She gave me a better understanding of how to stand to support balancing and knee flexing postures that are difficult for me. I am eager to incorporate this information into my daily practice to improve my lower body flexibility, strength and stability.
If you are looking for a greater understanding of your individual challenges with yoga, I highly recommend her comprehensive approach."
