NIKKI MCMASTER-MARTORANO (she/her)

I am a Trauma-Informed E-RYT, Reiki Master, and educator. When I’m not teaching yoga in the city, I work as a Yoga and Social Emotional Learning Specialist in an elementary school in Boston, where I strive to make whole-body wellness accessible to all. I became curious about yoga when I first began my career in education, and I was amazed by the impact the practice had on both me and my elementary school students. Inspired by the kids to learn more, I enrolled in YTT in the summer of 2018. Since then, I’ve been teaching yoga with an authentic, inclusive, and anti-racist lens in and around Boston, always teaching what I’m practicing- with an emphasis on being a lifelong learner both on and off the mat.

I was trained in Ashtanga-based Vinyasa with Renee LeBlanc, Trauma-Informed Yoga with Sophie Lyons, and Embodied Yoga for Social Justice and Leadership with Susanna Barkataki. I received training in decolonized sacred energy and Usui Reiki from Zel Amanzi and completed my Advanced and Master Reiki training with Danielle of Reiki Boston.

My goal as a yoga teacher is to cultivate and offer an environment where students feel safe to develop a sense of agency over their practice while honoring the roots and deep, ancient wisdom that this practice has to offer. In my classes, you can expect to move mindfully, explore yoga beyond asana (yoga poses), and develop a deeper connection between your mind, body, and breath.

What to Expect from My Classes

Options and agency. Expect mindful movement, accessible options, and space to breathe. I guide with a trauma-informed, inclusive approach, encouraging you to connect with your body, honor your boundaries, and explore yoga beyond the poses.
