RUTH SCHREIBER (she/her)
My mother brought me to my first yoga class when I was 15. At that point in life, I had tried many forms of exercise, but had not yet found a form of movement that connected with me. Immediately though, I felt a sense of ease in the room I walked into, each person focused on their own experience on their mat. From that point, I was hooked on the internal quieting I felt while practicing in a community. I believe that with consistent practice, there can be a quieting of inner and outer noise, leading to living a more present life on and off the mat.
I completed my first 200 hour teacher training at 18 years old with Jen Ryan at the Yoga Loft. I continued my practice under my mentor Kristin Olson at Home Yoga for the next 7 years, and completed my 300 hour teacher training with her in 2024. I have continued my education with Restorative Training at Home Yoga and Reiki Level 1 training at Soma Yoga. This coming year I will complete an additional 50 hours of training at Soma Yoga under the mentorship of Jill Rodgers and Amy Leydon.
What to Expect from My Classes
I teach an alignment-based class with a focus on intelligent, thoughtful sequencing. My goal is to allow space for the connection between mind, breath, and movement, while encouraging students to meet themselves where they are at in their practice. My teaching is best known for precise alignment cues. Expect to hold shapes to create space to properly align the body and expect to work up to some unique, challenging poses.
